Location problem data sets: This page provides a range of datasets for facility location problems, optimization, and spatial statistics. Click the title of a dataset to download it; most files are provided as zipped archives for convenience.

Texas county population dataset (n = 254)
A test data used for spatially-informed p-median problem by Kim et al. (2026), Annals of the American Association of Geographers

SWAIN dataset (n = 55)
A classic, widely used benchmark data set to solve the p-median location problem or the p-center problem in the field of facility location analysis and optimization. This data set is primarily used for testing and comparing algorithms for location problems. 

The Zip file includes:1) Swain_PMP_SA.xls - The data includes x, y, ai, and theta values. 2) Swain distance data (txt format)
